The report, now available online, was based on a two-phase mapping exercise that included national risk assessments conducted by national bio-experts followed by a regional SEA Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis workshop.
The report emphasizes the importance of collaborative strategies to address biosecurity risks, targeting biosecurity messages to multiple levels, from senior government to front-line workers, and implementing inclusive awareness programmes that reach not only laboratory practitioners, but also border security personnel, pandemic response managers, and other key stakeholders.
The activity was implemented by Project 62 “On-Site Technical Support to the EU CBRN CoE Regional Secretariat in Manila” in the framework of the EU CBRN Centres of Excellence Initiative.
