The Regional Office for the African Atlantic Coast is based in the Kingdom of Morocco at the Ministry of the Interior and its Directorate-General for Civil Protection.
The Regional Office plays a major role in helping to achieve the objectives of the EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative by ensuring close cooperation and coordination with the ten Partner Countries in the region. The Regional Office also provides support by engaging regional and international technical partners, potential donors and other stakeholders in the field of CBRN risk mitigation. It contributes to local ownership and, thus, to greater sustainability of the EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence network.
Currently, the EU CBRN CoE support to CBRN risk mitigation in the African Atlantic Façade region comprises the following ten Partner Countries: Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Liberia, Mauritania, Morocco, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
